Faction Networks Are Invisible and Connections Secure by Default

3 min read

FACTION PROTOCOL: It is impossible to see or connect to a Faction Network until invited and authenticated by the Faction owner.

Internet Protocol is Fundamentally Vulnerable #

With Internet Protocol, network addresses and traffic are visible, and connections are insecure by default. So Web servers and gateways are all visible for study and attack, and must have centralized controls and active defenses to monitor and protect them.

Faction Protocol Addresses the Root Causes of Networking Insecurity #

If you are serious about protecting your privacy and security, you need to first address this vulnerability at the foundation of everything you do online.

Secure by Default Because Connection Initiated by Owner #

It is impossible to see or connect to a Faction Network until invited and authenticated by the Faction owner. Only until and if the Faction Owner gives a user the key – via our direct out-of-band authentication method – can that user see and join the Network. Plus the Faction Owner can still take the key back any time!

Direct, Out-of-Band Authentication #

Credentials and even most forms of 2FA are not safe! Faction uses ONLY a direct, out-of-band, person-to-person system of authentication that is impervious to even the most sophisticated attacks.

Invisible to the Internet #

Faction Protocol, while your Faction Network runs OVER the Internet, nothing is visible to any servers or actors on the Internet. It simply is not visible until you are given the key.  This eliminates all the methods of surveillance, observation and study that are enabled by the vulnerability of Internet Protocol.

A New and Better Way to Internet #

Web Sites and Application Developers Can Use Faction to Power Private Networks #

The ‘public sphere’ of the Internet is an amazing resource that will continue to bring many benefits. But it comes with vulnerabilities that are almost as unlimited as its possibilities. Attempting to restrict access to authenticated users and customers, Web sites and application developers are engaged in an endless game of ‘whack-a-mole’ trying to fend off external bad actors. The harder you try, the more complex and painful the fixes become for

With Faction each Web site and application developer can create a private network just for their customers and users – and as many private groups as desired – with a painless UX, zero overhead and headaches. It just works. This won’t stop every attack that is possible, but it greatly simplifies the problems of security and privacy.

Faction Puts You in Control #

Faction can’t fix everything. But it can give you back a sphere of security and privacy for your networking, devices and data that is controlled always and only by you and the people that your authorize.

Private and Secure #

Faction Networks are encrypted and completely invisible and inaccessible on the Internet.

Easy #

Set up in minutes, use the Internet and applications as you always do.

Controlled by You #

Only YOU create and control the keys for your Faction Network, Groups, Devices and Members.

Try Faction for Free #

Don’t take our word for it. You can try and use Faction at no cost right now to start protecting the privacy and security of your networking, communications and data.
