We had a fantastic experience at our first TechConnect World Innovation Conference and Expo at the Gaylord National Harbor, Convention Center on June 17 – 19 in Washington DC. The conference featured the world’s brightest researchers, innovators, and technology prospectors for panels, networking and educational tracks. A particular highlight was learning about and meeting the program managers for SBIR across all of the agencies.
It was great to hear about the record level of investment in innovation and entrepreneurship – over $4.6 Billion in SBIR funding – which is the highest amount since the New Deal almost a century ago. More importantly, we were tremendously impressed by the transparency, responsiveness and dedication of all of the program staff to helping support SMBs to make vital contributions to our competitiveness and resilience as a nation. We congratulate and thank all for their services to our country.
